Randy I have found that unless the bottom of the sublimation chamber is clean you can find the temperature eventually remaining at 230C or 450F with the OA lying on the bottom resulting in the beekeeper beating on the cap under the impression that the OA is still in the cap. I have had beeks call me and say their vaporizer no longer sublimates the OA, expecting that maybe theband heater has faile I ask them to send it back and I will repair it. when it arrives I find the copper vessel grey with oxidised matterial. Once I spend 5 minutes cleaning out the copper chamber the unit works fine. I have found that once I begin treating my colonies starting with a clean chamber once the OA hits the bottom the temp drops to 290F 140C and as I move up the colonies that temperature increases little by little and so does the treatment time. I now use a little brush so as I move on to the next colony I revolve this brush once or twice in the chamber just to break that layer and the temperature drops down to 290F 140C on every treatment and when the temperature rises to400F 200C I remove the unit and cap clean with the brush and move on to the next hive. There is still a little vapor coming out but it is from the OA condesation on the cap the chamber is completely empty. Ther can be a build up of this grey ash on the bottom and side walls perhaps that could be breaking down once the OA has sublimated, but if you have seen OA on the bottom when the temperature has been around 190 -200C then there has not been a good heat transfer from the bottom to the OA
