Ed did some fantastic research.   I talked to him about two weeks before he passed.   I was working on getting him out to MT to repeat his bee orientation on landscape work.  Our bowl-shaped valley with Mountains, short passes opening into more open valleys, etc. would have been a great spot to fine-tune some of his observations.
We also talked about how bees responded to cool, cold, and freezing conditions - how low can they go?
