Agree, for routine inspection it is not practical at all. But for
transactions/breeding I think it makes sense. I remember buying my first
Breeder queens. Just the fact they came with numbered plate and a pedigree
with a lot of practically irrelevant information on it made them feel more
valuable.
I value my "mutts" also a lot more since I can call them "locally adapted
stock" :-)
Also: if in some distant future there will exist a city with overzealous
regulators requiring to mark queens on city limits to pay for swarm removal
costs or similar, you heard it here first :-)
