> a quick look at the BIP data
Greetings. I have followed the BIP closely from their initial foray into data collection. I think the set is skewed by the bias of self-reporting. Having worked for a Survey Research Institute, I know that the people you want to reach are usually the hardest to reach and the data set is flooded by eager self reporters. Tom Seeley in particular has been a standard bearer for the TF faction, and he is one of the most charismatic and credible leaders they have had. IMO, this does not bode well for beekeeping as a whole. I was skeptical at first of the move to incorporate veterinarians into the field, but as time goes on I have seen that their influence has been mostly beneficial.
