Hi all

A while back we were talking about 5 gal cans and the good ole days. Lately I have been reminiscing about learning how to tie down truck loads of hives with rope, and the knots we used (in the 1980s).

When I worked at the Cornell Bee Lab, about 20 years back, I was told that ropes were not allowed any more, and we used ratchet straps. I never looked into whether that's true, that rope tying is prohibited in NY or anywhere else.

Anyway, is anyone still using rope, and are beekeepers still learning the ropes, or has everyone gone over to ratchet straps?

Thanks in advance

Pete

thinking: "How did I get roped into this?"
