Do some people like basswood honey? Personally it is the only honey I have ever tasted that I found repulsive. I do not like mint flavor in general I guess unless it is very muted. I find the mint flavored polish my dental hygienist uses to be as repulsive as basswood honey. I also find it is not a good seller among my customers so I try to blend it off enough that you do not notice the mint taste. Heating in a hot box at 100 deg F for a couple of days also seems to get rid of the mint taste fairly well.

I have several 50+ foot basswood trees on my property and lots more in the surrounding woods. The last time we had a big bloom was seven or ten years back. Most years there is so little bloom I am happy as the minor honey production does not contaminate the good tasting stuff.
