Apparently, as OAV gets dispersed throughout the hive, only a small fraction actually makes its way into uncapped honey, rendering it no more harmful before a full round of OAV treatments, than it was before.  The amounts per kg of honey in the hive, is in the order of less than 50mg of OA, even with a full round of 2g 5X5 treatments.

Almonds, for example, contain quite a bit more OAV than any serving size of honey that was present in a hive treated with a full round of OAV.

From what I understand, it's common practice in Europe to treat with OAV with honey supers present, and it's not against the law to sell honey that was present during OAV treatments.
