As far as I can tell, there's no mandatory inspection any more. and few
County Apiarists.  My own Ag Commissioner isn't expecting much change.  I
listen to the reports from the Northern Calif County Ag Commissioners at
the Calif Bee Breeders Assoc meeting twice a year--they are strapped for
funds, and are mostly concerned about out-of-staters bringing in pests and
disease.
