On a similar topic, during heavy nectar flows, I've documented areas of partially drawn new foundation suddenly regress, while old comb in which the nectar is being stored is rapidly spruced up and capped. It's rather common. I assume that when a flow is on, the bees find it more efficient to move and reuse wax.
