It is not the chemicals in the sting that are life threatening, it is your
body's overactive immune response to them.
As far as "immunity" to bee stings, the reaction to a sting is an immune
reaction. So lack of reaction is lack of immune reaction, not "immunity."
The question then is, why do some beekeepers suddenly develop an overactive
immune response? I've only heard of this for beekeepers who get stung
occasionally, not every day.
Has anyone heard of a professional beekeeper who gets stung every day ever
exhibiting a life-threatening response to a sting?
