Fifteen years ago, I entered the honey contest at the Vermont Farm Show
with what I considered
a perfect Ross Round, uniform color, no empty cells, surely destined for
"Best in Show."
I didn't win, even in the comb category. Dismayed, I asked the judge,
former State
Inspector Steve Parise, what went wrong.
"Privet!" he said.
