> Aaron Morris - thinking I've been around a LONG time!
From Thomas Newton's translation of Cicero's "Worthye Book of Olde Age" (1569), regarding the "old" --
> They in mine opynion haue most worthely & comendably played the pageaunte of ye whole discourse of their age, & not like dranelike & idle stage players in the last act of al, geuen ouer & quailed.
rendered into modern English by me:
In my opinion, they have most worthily and commendably played the pageant of the whole course of their lives, and aren’t drone-like and idle stage players in the last act, hunched over and cowering.
