At every trade show I ask the manufacturers for supportive evidence. I've
yet to be shown any. I'm not saying that they can't, but if they did, it
wouldn't be at all difficult to demonstrate in a simple field trial or two.
>It seems like at every bee convention there is more and more of these products being displayed. On a more casual remark... when these products started showing up several years back I asked Dr Conner's what he KNEW about the products and he essentially said the same thing Randy says above... That is he had asked them for data in regards to research trial and at that time they had provided him with none.
>I perhaps should add (I suspect a detail that would not be foreign to the audience here) that I can understand folks not wanting to give out information on new products for proprietary reason but typically (with the help of an even adequate lawyer) these concerns can be easily address via non disclosure agreements..
>As to the one link to actually research (thanks for that) I have passed this around to several entomologist (inspection service head + academic types) for there thoughts. It seems to me there is a lot of MAYBE buried in the text and I have to suspect that the ns in the charts means that any difference in treatments is non significant.
