Hi Raul,
It's technically up to the pilot whether you bring live arthropods onto
the plane. When I was working at insect zoos, I went to the Invertebates
in Captivity, aka, Bugs in Bondage, Conference in AZ. It was also a
collecting trip and so this issue always came up. If you have only a few,
I'd go with the plastic queen cages if you can and put attendants in with
the queens. Put them in your pack maybe with a bunch of other small
innocuous items, and let them go through the scanner. The last TSA check I
went through, I had chapstick in my pocket and they caught that. Let us
know how it goes!
Good to hear from you.
Cheers,
Kristina Williams
