For your information fipronil is the active ingredient in many termite
treatments these days. I just did a quick search and it has a long
residual life - at least 2 years, and probably much more, which is why it
is used for termites. Weren't people using it for killing hive beetles in
beetle traps at one time? I am constantly amazed at what beekeepers are
willing to put in their hives to "protect" their bees. I like to remind my
clients that the reason people buy honey is they expect it to be a pure,
natural; product.
