Charles, don't you already have an equivalent registration/inspection law in Illinois?

Yes,  and its not horrible,  Inspectors are good and helpful  so no real complaints.  The new proposal was to add a lot of requirements such as a water supply and 6 foot fence to every yard,  and stiff penalties for not following  a set of very arbitrary "best practices"   the new rule idea was insanely intrusive....  As mentioned luckily it was killed quickly.

I didn’t review the NY proposal at all,  not my area!  I leave that up to the local people to debate and handle.
