> The contagious nature of EFB had me treat all colonies in the apiary
prophylactically.
We've dealt with EFB for years. In only one year did I find it to be of
benefit to treat all colonies prophylactically. Doing so selects for
antibiotic resistance,
which I wish to avoid at all costs, since I want OTC to be effective should
I need it!
We find that spot treating is all that's necessary, and seldom see EFB in
our colonies these days.
We also haven't seen AFB for some years, despite careful inspection of
every colony each spring when we nuc them up.
