It looked as though there would be a shortage this season, then not.  

Definite shortage in almonds  south valley is already crying for bees,  I have had a few calls this week,  anything over 6 frames will bring 175 right now,  and one asked about 4 framers.

North valley has been quiet,  but the north valley is dominated by locals (like Randy)  and may not have the same issues the south valley is seeing.

Many hives were  "dinks" and didn’t get shipped out.
