Just finished observing a webinar here in UK. Hosted by Beecraft magazine, it featured the Arnia hive monitoring products. Their sensor system includes acoustics, temp, humidity, hive weight. They said they have been working on automating the monitoring and prediction of swarming (following the work Eddie Woods did) and are "close". They can certainly identify the "warble" vs the "hum" that starts many days before actual swarming. Quite expensive (about £150 for hive monitoring sensors + £200-400 for scales + ??? for central gateway (I'd be surprised to get change from £800-£1000). Good that several different people are working on this....should eventually make it affordable and accessible to us hobbyists.
