I too don't understand the attraction for "Darwinian beekeeping."
Honey bees are not a native species in this country, nor are they under the
slightest threat of extinction. So what would be the point if you can't
harvest any honey? Does that Darwinian beekeeper simply want to watch bees
flying in and out of the entrance to a box? Putting out bird nest boxes or
hummingbird feeders, or planting pollinator-attractive plants would be more
visually interesting.
