To make matters worse, we will have another week of below normal temps in
the Northeast, then another week of cold, if you believe Joe Bastardi (and
I do) or it gets warm (according to the GFS, which was predicting warmth
this week so good luck). Good news is in two weeks both agree it will go to
above normal temps- instant spring. I am planning for two more weeks of
cold and hope for the best after that.

My guess is we will have some losses for those who do not have feed right
over the cluster. Classic starvation climate for the NE. Bees building up
and cold for about four days and no feed over the cluster- but here we will
have two weeks of cold is Joe is correct. He works from history as well as
models- is a commercial weather forecaster so has to get it right or lose
money. Has a nice daily summary at weatherbell.com.

An aside. A while back, on a local Maine Beekeeper's chapter list, a member
posted that they had a dead hive (from external observation) and I told
them to wait a bit because they can fool you. One of mine looked the same
and they "resurrected" this Easter Sunday.so from here on they are my
Easter hive.
