Sorry--you're correct. You can inspect the first-capped pupae
immediately. Sorry--am on the road in Ohio, so apologize for rushed
responses.
By all means get into your hives often when you're starting--you'll likely
disturb the bees and kill some queens, but that's the only way to learn!
