When protein patties are fed in the Fall, the bees eat them, they don't store that pollen, right? Or they feed it to young larvae, I believe. So doesn't it seem like that will produce more bees that will eat more stores?
A protein patty and a feeder full of syrup in the Fall would stimulate egg laying, I would assume. I guess that's a good thing when one wants young bees in the colony going into Winter. I'm just trying to understand why we do what we do other than simply because that's what "Jake" does.
Thanks
