I had lunch yesterday with a member of our beek association research committee who is a medical researcher familiar with PCR methodologies.  He wondered about the PCR primers used in the Shutler, et al. paper for DWV diagnosis and suggested they could have had false positives for DWV because they amplified “junk.”  This stuff is over my head.  Anyone have a comment on these DWV primers? See Table 1 here http://nlbeekeeping.ca/data/documents/shutler_etal_2014.pdf
