I have a large floater in each eye due to a vitreous separation. Another joy of old age. My question for Larry, did your eye swell.
Jerry -
Exactly my situation. I have a vitreous separation in one eye that causes the floater. The improvement in the floater appeared within 24 hours of the sting. When I reported this to the eye doctor he chalked it up to coincidence. As for swelling, I don't generally swell much from a single sting and any swelling goes away quickly. But it does seem to hurt more getting stung by the eye.
I have been keeping bees for 35 years and have reached the age where many of my cohorts have problems with arthritis. I have none (knock on wood). Is that due to being stung frequently? Don't know. But just in case, I think I will continue to keep bees and get stung. I would love to see the research on this.
Larry
