> Comparing his 1950s technology and simple frequency shifts for discrimination to modern AI-powered software and high definition microphones and recorders, is like comparing the pocket-sized, tinny, transistor radios that you and I remember to a modern day smartphone.
Hi all
The above quote tends to overlook a key point -- content. When the first wax recordings were played, people were moved to tears by the recognizable voice of Caruso. We have much better sound reproduction, of course, but most of what is reproduced is cacophony.
All I am saying is that if the content is there, we will recognize it -- hi-fi or low-fi. If there is no signal in the noise, it doesn't matter how you process it. Whatever you find is equivalent to reading tea leaves.
