Hi all
I would be interested in hearing reports from the field on the progress of honey gathering. Up here in the Finger Lakes of New York, spring arrived late. Black locust had a good bloom but it was rainy. Some honey was gathered by colonies in good shape, but personally I divided everything I could, forgoing any spring honey.
Around here it looks like the native basswood will be a total bust, there aren't any buds on the trees, despite the imported lindens looking normal. I don't have any of those in my vicinity, though. We may not get a serious flow until late August when the Japanese knotweed usually hits.
