Perhaps written words, archaic and limited in this age of immediate 
information, are a good instrument for careful dialogue.  Photographs 
and videos can provide more information, are more attractive, but also 
lend themselves more to misinformation.  It is easy for a charismatic 
person to lead others astray with still and moving pictures, but harder 
to do in writing, especially in a forum where what is written is being 
looked at carefully by peers.
