Hi all
It was a warm winter day and a friend and I watched honey bees working on a pile of used coffee grounds. He said the stuff must be sweet; I said they were probably getting off on the caffeine. Then I noticed they seemed to be grubbing around in it, not really gathering it. Reminded me of how bees appear to work on sawdust, perhaps they think that it is similar enough to pollen that it might have some value. Any ideas?
