My guess is that these bees are finding themselves a long way from home at dusk - perhaps through being caught out by bad weather - and then just joining the nearest colony that they can find. But that is just a guess...
>Could happen. It could also be the these hives are weak (for whatever reason) and the guard bess simple let them in < bees being haploid not all will guard the front entry with the same effectiveness. It also seems some 'kinds of bees' do a better job at guarding the front door than others.
