I've often wondered if this is the case for many dead bees I see in the
winter and spring spread out in radius around the bee yard. They really
stand out against the white snow. While certainly some are bees that
failed to return from cleansing flights, others appear to fly out of the
hives on days with no attempt to orient or return.
