This study is the first to confirm that drones present at DCAs
do carry Varroa. Varroa were recovered from drones at each
DCA. Furthermore, we observed a trend towards higher
Varroa abundance at DCAs that were further from managed
apiaries (2.73 Varroa/100 drones) and lower Varroa abundance
at DCAs that were 0.25 km from a managed apiary (0.42 Varroa/100)
