Re: linking honey identity to bee subspecies
I have been immersed in the subject of honey bee subspecies/races and several points of view have emerged --
The various subspecies are not discrete units and the utility of a subspecific classification has been challenged. — Michael S. Engel, Division of Entomology, Natural History Museum and Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS
Race is a relatively inbred lineage that emerges from a particular geographical region and manifests distinctive superficial traits that people find salient. — Michael O. Hardimon, Associate Professor of Philosophy, University of California, San Diego
