No, but I was raising a lot of queens then, mostly "Italian" but also NW Carniolans. I did encounter one colony while working as NYS bee inspector, though. Had all the traits of A. m. m. -- Black, very hostile, running all over the combs. Chased me for about 4 meters and then quit. The "Africanized" bees I have seen chased for hundreds of meters.
