I find myself wondering if the fat body movement to a wound could be considered an evolutionary precursor of the omentum of mammals moving to a wound. The wound can be from the outside into the abdomen or a break in the intestines. The omentum is basically a large leaf of fat who's job seems to be to seal leaks and help the immune system function.
