Nobody has asked me, since I have no degrees or credentials. Only 40 years experience actually dealing with AFB.
The best procedure when AFB is found in an apiary is to treat the apiary as an infected apiary. Symptomatic colonies should be destroyed and asymptomatic ones should be given antibiotic for the remainder of the season, in case they have spores. The antibiotic will prevent further outbreak in colonies that may have low spore levels but no symptoms. Veterinarians should not have been dragged into this, expected to write prescriptions for insects.
