ALL drones are haploid - i.e. NOT sterile.  Drones produced by laying workers are no different.

(Not quite strictly true.  A small minority of drones are diploid but they are destroyed by the workers while still larvae.  http://honeybee.drawwing.org/book/diploid-drones  Yes, bee biology is weird.)
