Requeening aggressive hives is unfortunately part of my Cost of Doing Business.
In my location (Los Angeles CA area) I typically see an 8-10 week period before I can confidently put a requeened hive into a homeowner's back yard. Occasionally I have seen an instant calming effect but it doesn't stay long with my local AHB's. More typically I will see these workers accept a docile queen only with extended caging, and then go ahead and supersede anyway 3 weeks later.
