Although it's a couple of years since last I lit a smoker, preferring nowadays to use a sprayer with 'liquid smoke' I have used many different fuels, usually old sacking or corrugated cardboard but sometimes other handy stuff like strawy pony droppings.

<div>I did for a while experiment by adding a variety of weeds/herbs to make the smoke smell better. Yarrow, I remember, was good but on the only occasion I used sage the bees attacked the smoker!
