"There was no hint of fire or explosion. Was able to fog my hand. No problem, it felt cool. Ethanol alcohol is used to rapidly cool intake air after a turbocharger compresses and heats the air charge in a turbocharged automobile engine. HTH :)"
An old magician's trick is to burn a scarf or handkerchief and show that it can be burned and yet the cloth remains un-scorched. The secret is that it was drenched in a water-alcohol mix. But before anyone decides alcohol is safe, one has to consider that alcohol-fueled race cars and dragsters have a know hazard - the fuel burns so clear, one can be burned by unseen flames. It's my understanding that the fuel has additives so that flames can be seen.
