What did Walt Write write?
"Evils of the double deep Bee culture Nov 2003"
I happened to be studying it a bit. Much research the last year or two on how to produce more honey (singles are the key) But bottom line Walt writes about how the double deep is exactly wrong. The space between hive bodies is in the wrong place. While I amnot sure I agree totally, as location is key, he makes some great points.
The one thing I thought was odd, was he commented how bees prefer to put honey up top, brood in the middle, and pollen below. This is not what I see in double deeps, but it does seem to look this way in the messed up hive I am running now. Curious to see if it sticks.
