I'm in sierra foothills about ten miles from Randy at 2500'. Lows here in January usually about 25-35. I am getting bees started early to take to almonds. Thanks for the details Kristina. I fear I've done some damage to smaller colonies by putting too large of a patty in the middle of the cluster. I also notice the bees seem more interested in the PS when its above the cluster rather than below. I guess that's where they go looking for honey so makes sense.
