Intresting discussion but it neglects the elephant in the room. Varroa is
not the problem but the carrier of the problem- viruses and other
pathogens. As noted by many here, low Varroa loads can be distructive when
before they were not. So we can have a bee that keeps Varroa down but still
have virus kill the hive. It is not Varroa resistance but virus resistance.
