MAQs always have a load of both dead bees and pupa.
I think we should be very careful when we use that as a measuring stick. Myself I don't see a cupful of dead larva as a problem. 2 reasons, first I suspect they were Varro damaged, and even if not a few dead larva tell me I got into the capping.
A good frame of brood contains 3000 new bees, a couple hundred dead is not a big deal.
