Who am I supposed to let know that my hives, which almost always can be seen from the road, are on site? Am I, as a beekeeper, now expected to find out who owns all of the land within flight distance of my 14 different apiaries? 

Yes.. your allowing your bees to trespass on those lands....  and by doing so,  you accept responsibility for them and their actions.  Standard case law in any state.
