Nice rant Charlie--I'm happy to see you adding some meaningful challenging
to this discussion. A large proportion of the commercial beekeepers are
also sick to death of the alarmism, and tired of being used as unwilling
poster children by some activist groups with narrow minded agendas.

As far as going back to the "old ways," I'm with you in incredulity. With
7+ billion humans on the planet, there is no going back. Agriculture,
pesticides, and beekeeping are continually evolving. Evolution is change,
and I'm not putting any value judgment on it--it just happens.

Humans are currently in a zero sum game competition with most other species
on Earth (maize, soy beans, cattle, and chickens excluded). I applaud on
open-minded and objective assessment of this situation, and well-supported
proposed solutions and directions to pursue to minimize further species
extinction, rather than single-minded protesting.
