If they were that bad, I would kill them off myself, I have been requeening.... But I can tell you for sure for the first season in a long time I see NO signs of skunks. Normally a big problem.
I was talking of line with someone here, I do mow around them, and you will get a greeter or two, but nothing major. They do got anxious when I weed eat at the pallets, but to me that’s not a big deal.... for crying out loud, I weedeat the entrances!.... You will wear cloves taking honey out of those few, but I have had much worse Shaking bees in the rain..... So to me its all relative. Yes I want a bit milder, but in my opinion they are in no way TOO mean....
Oh and for what its worth, I have used a LOT of different bee suits and jacket and veils... A friend from south Texas recommended the suit from Mann lake Its triple layer screen.... 150 bucks or so. It seems kinda heavy, but I assure you, you can go naked under it, with no sting thru, and the open mesh allows air to run right thru. I have a super light nylon one I used to like, because its so light, but it doesn't allow air thru. But bees can and will at times sting thru it. We shook a lot of packages in the rain this year, downright mean bees. (because of rain) and you taped everything, and still got it. But this suit was awesome... I hate the hood, but its bee proof, and cool enough for 90 degree days.
