It is a good point to challenge. I also have seen many cells with multiple eggs on the side of the cells. I am not sure if there are data to support the egg laid by egg laying worker distribution inside the worker cells. A good project to check and get better info.
As Jerry said we see some queens lay multiple eggs in a cell. I also have seen eggs even on the comb face but workers will canalize them so fast.
