Pete, I do not share your skepticism. Extremely effective artificial diets
have been developed for most cultured critters, mammal, avian, fish, or
invertebrate. I see no reason why a bee diet should be an exception.
Indeed, some of the current formulations appear to be damn close.
Furthermore, the recent findings of Kirk Anderson point out that bacterial
fermentation of pollen is unnecessary.
