Same here: decades, no bee kill. Bee-Go is the only repellent I would use, but in this climate it is often too cool to work properly when I am pulling honey, especially in the fall.
I certainly have seen the whole colony run out of the hive plenty of times. Maybe they couldn't get out fast enough, and suffocated. Just a guess.
